Youth Ambassadors

Empower, inspire and support other young people to become Young Professionals.

URBOND is proud to introduce our Youth Ambassadors, who work together on issues affecting young people in our communities and help generate ideas and solutions to support everyone.

Our curated team of Youth Ambassadors have strategically been selected to work with our organisation, partners and professionals to help empower young people. They support them as they overcome obstacles, build confidence and resilience. In addition, our ambassadors work closely with us to help create opportunities, wellness and success for young people and their future.

Our Youth Ambassadors:

  • Share their stories and represent the voices of young people from URBOND and their respective communities.
  • Work together on issues affecting youth in our communities to come up with ideas and solutions to support all young people.
  • Empower, inspire and support our youth to become Young Professionals.
  • Share their own and other young people’s experiences and opinions on issues affecting their development.
  • Support us and our partners to develop youth friendly policies and procedures to create more opportunities for all young people, irrespective of their beliefs, backgrounds and ideologies.

Youth Ambassadors are supported to:

  • Effectively communicate and present their ideas, views and opinions to others.
  • Interact with young people in an inspiring and engaging way.
  • Develop their passion, enthusiasm and commitment to supporting all young people in their journey towards becoming good citizens.
  • Work as a team to solve problems and come up with new ideas.
  • Use their initiative to recognise and act on opportunities which may align with the work of Youth Ambassadors and URBOND.
  • Promote and uphold the values of equality and diversity and behave in a non-discriminatory manner.

I am from Leigh Park and am very passionate about sports. I play volleyball and basketball at URBOND and have been engaging with them since I was seventeen. I have been able to develop many skills through the work experience scheme directly with URBOND and I am now one of the qualified coaches helping other young people in Portsmouth and the surrounding areas. This is a great opportunity for me, and I am excited for where my future with URBOND takes me.

I am from Portsmouth and have been engaging with URBOND for two and a half years now. They have provided me a platform to express myself through one of my biggest passions: music! I love rap music and I have even produced my own song with URBOND. I am looking forward to helping other young people, even though I am only twelve myself!

I am half-Thai, and I am from Portsmouth. URBOND has kept me engaged with their activities, such as basketball. This has given me the chance to stay active whilst also interacting with other members in the community. I plan to help URBOND by trying to be involved with even more activities to be a good role model and a positive influence for other young people as much as I can.

I’ve been part of the URBOND youth volleyball project for over a year, through which I have made many great friends and I am enjoying it very much. I also play rugby for three clubs: Havant Rugby Club; Peter Symonds Rugby Club and Harlequins Centre of Excellence, which provides me with happiness alongside volleyball. I am aligned with the Youth Ambassadors goals as I believe their push for diversity, equality and cohesion within all communities is an aspiration.
