The URBOND Drama and Theatre project is delivered in partnership with professionals and organisations. The aim is to equip young people with skills in theatre, including stagecraft, communication, technical abilities, theatre practitioner concepts, cues, line memorisation, improvisational techniques and stage discipline.
The project is conducted through engaging drama workshops where drama games, small-scale performances, and exercises are utilised to teach these skills in an enjoyable and interactive manner.
Our ultimate goal is for young people to stage a theatrical production within the local community, ideally in a local theatre. Additionally, we aspire to ensure young people have better access to the arts industry as a viable career option. We aim to provide positive experiences of the industry and make the arts more accessible to young people from minority backgrounds, not only as consumers but also as potential professionals, activists, or volunteers within their communities.
